A. One individual spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Admiral Smith, 600 CR 45080 Powderly, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. <br />Smith stated that these properties were willed over to him by his grandmother and <br />he has been taking care of the property for a couple years. Mr. Smith stated that he <br />wants to construct a single family one bedroom home at 311 E. Provine and 812 <br />N.E. 3rd Street. Mr. Smith stated that he has contacted Brandon Chaney with <br />Chaney Engineering to plat the two lots together to be able to move forward with <br />his plans. Mr. Smith further stated he hopes the board will approve his variances to <br />move forward with the process. <br />B. Three Individuals spoke in opposition of the petition. <br />Jackie Moreland, 303 E. Provine Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the petition. <br />Mrs. Moreland stated that she has lived at her residence for thirteen years and no <br />one has ever taken care of the property. Mrs. Moreland stated that she believes that <br />the lot is too small for someone to build a home. <br />Victoria Lane, 319 E. Provine Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the petition. <br />Mrs. Lane stated that the property is too small to construct a home on and that the <br />owner has not been taking care of the property. <br />Eric Lane, 319 E. Provine Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the petition. Mr. <br />Lane stated that the property is too small to construct a home on it. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Louise Hagood to approve the variance request. Motion died for a <br />lack of a second. <br />Motion was made by Jerry Harting, seconded by Marilyn Smith to deny the variance <br />request. Motion carried 4 -1, with Louise Hagood in opposition. <br />4. Meeting adjourned at 12:27 p.m. <br />APPROVED THE 31 ST DAY OF MAY, 201 <br />
