RESOLUTION NO. 2016 -022 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; <br />ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $17,057.05 FROM THE <br />DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, <br />FOR A HAZARDOUS MATERIALS /DIVE RESCUE PROJECT (NOS. 3042091 <br />AND 2946902); AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ANY AND ALL <br />DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR FILING APPLICATION OF SAID GRANT; <br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVSIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris finds it in the best interest of the <br />citizens of Paris, Texas that the Hazardous Materials /Dive Rescue Project be operated for <br />the 2016 year; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris agrees that in the event of loss or <br />misuse of the Office of the Governor funds, the City Council of the City of Paris assures that <br />the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris designates A.J. Hashmi, Mayor, as the <br />grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept, <br />reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris accepts the grant in the amount <br />of $17,057.05 from the Division of Emergency Management, Office of the Governor for the <br />Hazardous Materials /Dive Rescue Project (Nos. 3042091 and 2946902). <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of June, 2016. <br />
