Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday May 03, 2016 at 5:15 P.M. in the <br />Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. Susan Hamby <br />2. Bill Sanders <br />3. Wendell Moore <br />4. Barry Shiver <br />5. David Ballard <br />The city staff was represented by Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle. <br />City Council was represented by Aaron Jenkins <br />Chairman Barry Shiver called the meeting to order at 5:17pm. A quorum was <br />established with five members present. <br />Mr. Shiver moved to item #2 concerning the approval of minutes from the March <br />01, 2016 meeting. Ms. Hamby made a motion to approve minutes with a second <br />from Mr. Ballard. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Mr. Shiver moved to item #3 regarding the discussion and possible action <br />concerning recommending the placement of 20 mph speed zone in 10 block of <br />2nd SE. Mr. Tuttle informed members that due to the new park that just opened <br />on the west end of First Methodist Church parking lot, a request had been made <br />to change the speed limit on 2nd SE between Lamar and Clarksville from 30 mph <br />to 20 mph. After discussion Ms. Hamby made a motion to request the speed limit <br />be change on 2nd SE to a 20 mph speed zone with a second from Mr. Moore. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to Item #4 regarding old business. Mr. Tuttle informed <br />members that Steve Engelhardt had resigned the Traffic Commission effective <br />May 01, 2016. There was no other discussion. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to item #5 future agenda items. There were none. <br />Mr. Shiver moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:23pm.
