Item No. 7 <br />memorandum <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT TO THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />DATE: June 29, 2016 <br />BACKGROUND: Policies and Procedures for Boards, Commissions, and Committees adopted <br />by City Council require that appointments be made at the second regular City Council meeting in <br />June. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: Appointments were made on June 27 and subsequently it was determined <br />that Ms. Tyesha Mathis was appointed to the Housing Authority to a position that required a <br />resident commissioner. Since that time, resident commissioner Dewayne Dangerfield has been <br />appointed by certificate and filed with the City Clerk. The City Clerk contacted Ms. Tyesha <br />Mathis and Ms. Mathis expressed her desire to serve on the Traffic Commission to fill the <br />vacancy on the Traffic Commission. <br />BUDGET: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Ms. Tyesha Mathis to the vacancy on the Traffic Commission. <br />
