Item No. 11 <br />memorandum <br />TO: John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Cheri Bedford, Main Street Coordinator & Historic Preservation Officer <br />SUBJECT: Vacancy on Historic Preservation Commission <br />DATE: September 14, 2016 <br />BACKGROUND: The Historic Preservation Commission has a vacancy in the space reserved <br />for the Main Street Advisory Board member due to the resignation of Commissioner Phillip <br />Peeples from both the Main Street Advisory Board and the Historic Preservation Commission. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: At the regularly scheduled Main Street Advisory Board meeting on <br />September 13, 2016 the board discussed who would be interested in serving in this capacity and <br />nominated a replacement for Mr. Peeples. Main Street Advisory Board Member Ms. Leah Rolen <br />expressed a desire to serve in that capacity. The board voted unanimously to recommend Ms. <br />Leah Rolen to fill the seat reserved for the Main Street Advisory Board member on the Historic <br />Preservation Commission. <br />BUDGET: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Ms. Rolen to the Historic Preservation Commission to fill the <br />seat reserved on the Commission for a member of the Main Street Advisory Board. <br />
