Item No. 17
memorandum
TO: City Council
John Godwin, City Manager
FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk
SUBJECT: CHANGES FOR MEETING DATES IN NOVEMBER & DECEMBER
DATE: October 11, 2016
BACKGROUND: Normally in November and December, the second City Council meetings are
rescheduled and/or cancelled due to the holidays and accompanying conflicts in scheduling.
STATUS OF ISSUE: According to the regular meeting schedule, City Council meetings are
scheduled for November 14, November 28, December 12, and December 26. November 28 is
immediately following Thanksgiving and December 26 is the day after Christmas. If City
Council desires, they could cancel the November 28 and December 26 meetings and/or
reschedule those meetings for different dates.
BUDGET: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: City staff has been requested to bring information forward on possibly
the selling of GO Bonds for utility system improvements. In order to explore this option, we will
need to have our bond counsel give a presentation to City Council on December 5. City staff is
proposing cancelling the November 28 meeting, December 26 meeting and conducting a special
meeting on December 5.
