<br />(b) Stage I - Mild Water Shortage Conditions <br /> <br />(1) Goal: Achieve a voluntary five percent (5%) reduction in daily water <br />demand. <br /> <br />(2) Supply Management Measures: <br /> <br />Measures to be implemented directly by the City of Paris to manage limited <br />water supplies and/or reduce water demand will include: reduced or <br />discontinued flushing of water mains, use of reclaimed water for non-potable <br />purposes, and stringent operation of The Water Treatment Plant concerning <br />filter backwashing. <br /> <br />(3) Voluntary Water Use Restrictions <br /> <br />a. Retail water customers are requested to voluntarily limit the <br />irrigation of landscaped areas to Sundays and Thursdays for <br />water customers with a street address ending in an even <br />number, and Saturdays and Wednesdays for water customers <br />with a street address ending in an odd number, and to irrigate <br />landscapes only between the hours of midnight and 10:00 <br />a.m. and 8:00 p.m. to midnight on designated watering days. <br /> <br />b. All operations of the City of Paris shall adhere to water use <br />restrictions prescribed for Stage 2 of the Plan. <br /> <br />c. Retail water customers are requested to practice water <br />conservation and to minimize or discontinue water use for <br />non-essential purposes. <br /> <br />(c) Stage 2 - Moderate Water Shortage Conditions <br /> <br />(I) Goal: Achieve a ten percent (10%) reduction in daily water demand. <br /> <br />(2) Supply Management Measures: <br /> <br />Measures to be implemented directly by the City of Paris to manage limited <br />water supplies and/or reduce water demand will include: reduced or <br />discontinued flushing of water mains, use of reclaimed water for non-potable <br />purposes, stringent operation of water for non-potable purposes, stringent <br />operation of The Water Treatment Plant concerning filter backwashing, and <br />discontinuing all outside wash-down activities. <br /> <br />9 <br />
