ORDINANCE NO. 2000-051 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT SECTION 7-19 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING THE GENERAL CONSTRUCTION PERMIT FEES; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, finds and determines that significant costs are incurred by the City in processing permits and performing inspections pursuant to the General Construction Code provisions of the City's ordinances; and, WHEREAS, the City Council deems it appropriate to assess a portion of those costs on the parties seeking permits and inspections pursuant to said General Construction Code provisions; and, WHEREAS, the Texas Local Government Code, the City Charter, and the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas authorize the City to assess fees and costs incident to the regulation of construction within the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all things approved, Section 2. That Section 7-19 ofthe Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows: "Sec. 7-19. Permit fees.
