Item No. 21 memorandum TO: Mayor & City Council FROM: John Godwin, City Manager SUBJECT: DRAINAGE UPDATE DATE: January 9, 2017 BACKGROUND: Council Member Drake requested another update on drainage work, especially work related to the 24`h Street watershed area which requires surveying, wter modeling, engineering, and ultimately construction. STATUS OF ISSUE: Jerry McDaniel will be prepared to provide an overall summary of the clearing and other work completed to date. In addition, he and the city engineer can address the status of the 24th Street work, for which we have reserved funds. As provided to you in December, our initial engineering schedule was: November 28, start field survey; December 2, complete field survey; January 15, complete H &H analysis; January 31, preliminary report to city. I believe we are generally on schedule, but will get a specific update form the contract engineer prior to Monday's meeting. Construction will be in late spring/summer. In the meantime, clearing work in Johnson Woods preparatory to wastewater construction is well underway. BUDGET: Funds were set aside by council from fund surplus in 2016. RECOMMENDATION: Discussion only.
