ORDINANCE NO. 2001-006 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 2000-067 AS THE SAME ADOPTED NEW SECTIONS 16-21 THROUGH 16-60 TO ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 16 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, REVISING SECTION 16-34(b)(5) TO REQUIRE REVISED INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR ISSUANCE OF PERMITS THEREUNDER; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PRESERVING THE TERMS AND PROVISIONS OF THE PRIOR ORDINANCE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, has previously adopted Ordinance No. 2000-067 on December 11, 2000, amending Chapter 16 of the Code of Ordinances to establish new regulations and requirements related to residential, commercial, and industrial waste hauling and waste collection within the city of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas has determined that more comprehensive insurance coverage is necessary to provide adequate protection to the citizens of the City of Paris regarding solid waste haulers permitted to haul waste on the streets ofthe City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2000-067, adopted by the City Council on the 11th day of December, 2000, as the same adopted new Sections 16-21 through 16-60 to Article II, Chapter 16 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, and specifically Section 16-34(b)(5), providing insurance requirements for individuals receiving a solid waste collection permit, shall be, and is hereby, amended to read as follows: "Sec. 16-34. Application for Permit; issuance of permit; expiration; permit not transferable. " "(b) The permit application shall include the following information: "
