<br />ORDINANCE NO. 99-083 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEARING ON PROPERTY AND A <br />STRUCTURE LOCATED IN THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, BEING WTS 4 AND 4-A, <br />CITY BLOCK 64-B, LOCATED AT 605 PINE BLUFF, AND AN ORDINANCE OF <br />THE CITY COUNCIL FINDING THE MA TERIALS REMAINING ON THE PREMISES <br />TO CONSTITUTE A NUISANCE AND TO BE A FIRE HAZARD TO LIFE AND <br />PROPERTY AND A HAZARD TO THE LIFE AND WELFARE OF THE <br />INHABIT ANTS OF THE AREA, AND ORDERING THE ABATEMENT OF SUCH <br />NUISANCE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JANUARY 1, 1999. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing was called to order by the Mayor of the City of Paris, <br />Charles H. Neeley, on the 29th day of November, 1999, at 6:00 o'clock p.m., in the Council <br />Room, City Hall, 135 1st Street SE, in the City of Paris, Texas; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Hazard Inspection Committee <br />fixed a date for hearing on the resolution referred to the Committee by the City Council on the <br />18th day of October, 1999; that said Committee fIxed said hearing at 10:00 o'clock a.m. on <br />the 12th day of November, 1999; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that proper notice was given to the owner <br />or owners of the structure hereinafter listed; that, at said hearing on the 12th day of November, <br />1999, the Committee listed the structure involved and introduced pictures of the various <br />portions of the structures and various portions of the premises involved and a list of <br />discrepancies in the structure located thereon; that the Committee found that the hereinafter <br />listed structure was in such a state of deterioration and dilapidation as to create a serious fIre <br />hazard to life and property, and that said building was dilapidated and dangerous to life and <br />property and that said building was dangerous to life and property; that the owners of the <br />property failed to appear before the Committee; and that it was the recommendation of the <br />Committee that the structure be condemned or repaired and that the respective owners thereof <br />be given the time to abate said nuisance by repair or removal as is set out in connection with <br />the property and structure located at the following address: <br /> <br />605 Pine Bluff, Lots 4 & 4-A, City Block 64-B 30 days demolish and remove. <br /> <br />and it is so stated in the report of the Building Hazard Inspection Committee filed with the City <br />Clerk of the City of Paris on the 16th day of November, 1999; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has fully heard and considered the testimony presented <br />upon the hearing and a complete transcript of the testimony reported by the Building Hazard <br />Inspection Committee; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />-1- <br />
