<br />ORDINANCE NO. 99-053 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING <br />SUBPARAGRAPH (f) OF SECTION 17-5 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR A FEE <br />INCREASE FOR WALLET-SIZED CERTIFICATION OF BIRTH; REMOVING <br />REFERENCE TO UNCERTIFIED COPIES OF BIRTH OR DEATH RECORDS; <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF AUGUST 1, 1999. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That subparagraph (t) of Section 17-5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City <br />of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended so that such shall read as follows: <br /> <br />"Sec. 17-5. Registrar of vital statistics. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />"(t) The registrar of vital statistics is authorized and directed to furnish, upon <br />request, to any qualified applicant, a certified copy of a death certificate, recorded <br />as provided in this section, for which a fee of nine dollars ($9.00) will be charged <br />for the first or only copy requested, and three dollars ($3.00) for each additional <br />certified copy of the same record requested in the same request. The fee for a <br />certified copy of a birth record shall be nine dollars ($9.00), plus a two dollar <br />($2.00) surcharge, for a total of eleven dollars ($11.00). The fee for a wallet-sized <br />certification of birth shall be nine dollars ($9.00), plus a two dollar ($2.00) <br />surcharge, for a total of eleven dollars ($11.00). Such certified copy shall be <br />issued in only such form as approved by the state department of health, and receipts <br />shall be made by the registrar and issued to the applicant upon receipt of forms <br />furnished and provided by the City. When a search of birth or death records is <br />requested, a search fee of nine dollars ($9.00) will be charged for death certificates <br />and nine dollars ($9.00), pIus a two dollar ($2.00) surcharge, for a total of eleven <br />dollars ($11.00) for birth certificates. Ifthe birth or death record is found and a <br />copy purchased, then the search fee shall not be assessed. <br /> <br />" " <br /> <br />Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly <br />repealed. <br /> <br />Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on August 1, 1999. <br />
