No person shall place or maintain any <br />or maintain any off - premises sign other than a billboard as regulated herein, " to allow the <br />car wash changeable panel to be located in the Exxon pylon sign as an off premise sign, on <br />Lot 4, being located in the 3000 Block off .E. loop 286 <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. One individual spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Alex Pickering, owner of SCS Graphics, spoke in favor of the petition. Mrs. <br />Pickering stated that she was seeking approval for a variance to allow 7 square feet <br />over the maximum allowable signage and for an off - premises sign. <br />B. No one spoke in opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Marilyn Smith, seconded by Bryan Glass to approve the variance <br />request. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />5. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition Tommy Bell (Representing <br />Paris Chevrolet) to grant a variance of Section 28 -8(h) of the Sign Ordinance which <br />provides that "total sign face area of all permanent signs combined on one property, <br />including ground signs, pole signs, attached signs, etc. shall not exceed one (1) square foot <br />per front foot of property line, or maximum of the three hundred (300) square feet, at any <br />time, " to allow a 65 square foot variance over the maximum allowable signage, on Lot 16, <br />Block 251 being located in the 1915 North Main Street. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. One individual spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Tommy Bell, with Barnett Signs, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Bell stated that <br />he was seeking approval for a variance to allow 65 square feet over the maximum <br />allowable signage. <br />B. No one spoke in opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Charles Richards <br />
