MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 18.2013 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission was called to order at 4:05 p.m. by Chair <br />Ben Vaughan. <br />A. The following commissioners were present: Chair Ben Vaughan, Nancy <br />Anderson, David Stewart, Beatrice Ardila, and Lauri Redus (arrived during <br />item 5). <br />B. Vice Chair Douglas Cox and Michael Glatfelter were absent <br />C. Also present: Joey Sleeper, Historic Preservation Officer <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings (December 04, 2013). <br />Chair Vaughan requested changes to correct the spelling of Mr. Hunter's name and <br />change wording in item3 to change wording from "home designs " to 'front elevations " <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Anderson and seconded by Commissioner Stewart to <br />approve the minutes as amended. The motion carried 4 -0. <br />3. Review of letter to Doyle Whitaker, Paris Living, concerning appropriateness of proposed <br />designs in the Church Street Historic District. <br />Chair Vaughan introduced the item and requested the letter be changed to reflect only the <br />approval of the front elevations of the homes instead the overall design of the homes. Mr. <br />Sleeper stated that he would make the changes and issue the letter to Mr. Whitaker. No <br />action was taken. <br />4. Future Agenda Items. <br />Mr. Sleeper explained that the next scheduled meeting would be Wednesday, January 8, 2014 <br />at noon. He also invited the commissioners to attend a grant presentation to Scott McDowell <br />for renovations he had done to 2 West Plaza at 1: 00 pm that same day. <br />5. Sign Ordinance discussion <br />The commission discussed proposed requirements for banners, seasonal and temporary <br />signs and decorations, directory signs, murals, wall signs, and window signs. No action <br />was taken. <br />6. Adjournment. - <br />� <br />With no other matters to discuss, a motion to adjourn was made b� Gla ughan and <br />seconded by Commissioner Anderson. The motion carried 5-0. <br />
