MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY JULY 10, 2013 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission was called to order at 12:04 p.m. by <br />Vice Chairman Ben Vaughan. <br />A. The following members were present: Vice Chairman Ben Vaughan, Lauri <br />Redus, Nancy Anderson, Britin Bostick, and David Stewart. <br />B. Douglas Cox was absent and 1 position is vacant. <br />C. Also present: Joey Sleeper, Historic Preservation Officer; Bret & Sherrie <br />Holbert, and Robert Talley; Code Enforcement Supervisor <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (June 12, 2013) <br />Motion was made by Lauri Redus and seconded by Nancy Anderson to approve the <br />minutes as written. The motion carried 5-0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness: <br />A. Fagade renovation, 107 Grand Avenue, Bret & Sherrie Holbert <br />Vice Chairman Vaughan introduced the item and called the applicant, Bret <br />Holbert. Mr. Holbert explained that he and his wife, Sherrie Holbert purchased <br />the subject structure to renovate for a beer and wine garden and glazed ham <br />store. Mr. Holbert explained that the building's roof had collapsed and that the <br />damages were mitigated prior to purchasing it. He further explained that the <br />proposal is for an open -air structure with no solid roof and a fagade open to the <br />public sidewalk. Vice Chairman Vaughan noted that additional fagade <br />renderings were received immediately prior to the meeting and that the <br />Commission did not have ample time to review them. Mr. Holbert stated that <br />they also need time to review the new renderings and agreed that the item be <br />tabled until a later meeting. Vice Chairman Vaughan then stated that <br />sandblasting of brick as shown in the application would not be allowed, in <br />which Mr. Holbert agreed that alternative approved methods would be used. <br />Commissioner Bostick asked the applicant if he had spoken to the Texas <br />Alcoholic Beverage Commission about regulations regarding separation from <br />the pubic way. Mr. Holbert stated that he would review the state regulations <br />and ensure the proposed design would comply. With no furthuer questions of <br />the applicant, a Motion to table the item until a later meeting was made by <br />Lauri Redus and seconded by Nancy Redus. The motion carried 5-0. <br />4.
