Motion was made by Benny Plata, seconded by James Price to approve the petition. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />4. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Larry McClendon for a <br />change in zoning from an One - Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF -3) to a One - Family <br />Dwelling District No. 3 (SF -3) with a Specific Use Permit (39) Mobile Home, on Lot 1, <br />City Block 305, being number 2690 Campbell Street. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. Larry McClendon, 3635 W. Houston, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. <br />McClendon stated he purchased the lot from the City of Paris. He wants to put a <br />nice manufactured home on the lot and live there. Mr. McClendon brought <br />pictures to show the commission reflecting the type of home he is looking to <br />purchase. <br />B. Carolyn Briley, 2510 W. Campbell, spoke in opposition. Ms. Briley stated she is <br />concerned about the value of the property, she expressed concerns that the <br />commission was voting to allow a mobile home park in the area. Ms. Briley <br />further stated she had no problem with Mr. McClendon putting a mobile home on <br />the lot to live in. <br />Public hearing was closed. <br />Motion was made by James Price, seconded by Benny Plata to approve the petition. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />5. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Shan T. Totty for a <br />change in zoning from a Planned Development District (PD -a) Retail Shopping Center to a <br />General Retail District (GR), on Lot 8, City Block 286, being number 2995 Lamar Avenue. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. Bill Cupit, 607 Clarksville Street, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Cupit stated <br />he was representing the Totty's because they live out of the state. The Totty's <br />are proposing to allow a medical office in the building and had to get the zoning <br />change to do this. <br />B. There was no opposition. <br />Public hearing was closed. <br />Motion was made by Bill Harris, seconded by James Price to approve the petition. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />
