06/05/2008 15:04 9037842503 PAGE 03 <br />PARIS VISITORS AND CONVENTION COUNCIL MINUTES <br />February 5, 2008 <br />Present: Bobby Walters, Jesse Freelen, George Kimbrough, Suzy Harper, <br />Tim Masters, Roy Gwinn, Helen Short, Derald Bulls, Mindy Moree, <br />Pete Kampfer, and Becky Semple <br />Chairman Bobby Waiters called the meeting to order. <br />Guest attending today's meeting was Connie Beard with the Paris News. <br />Mindy Moree presented the financials, and Bobby Walters made a motion to <br />approve the financials, and Tim Masters seconded the motion, <br />New Business: The minutes were presented from the last meeting. Helen Short <br />made a motion to approve the minutes as read, and George Kimbrough <br />made the second. <br />Funding Requests from the Breakfast optimist for two baseball <br />tournaments, were presented. <br />Request of $2,000.00 for the 9 & under, and 11 & under double <br />Baseball tournament <br />Request of $2,000.00 for 8 & under tournament <br />One of the tournaments will be the same weekend as Tour de Paris, and there <br />was discussion to schedule the tournament for another weekend, but the <br />decision was made to leave the date for the tournament as scheduled. <br />Bobby Walters made a motion that funding requests for these tournaments be <br />approved, and George Kimbrough made the second. <br />Future Business: There was discussion concerning the need for a Trolley Car to <br />unite Main Street, the Chamber, the Lamar County Historical Society <br />Museum, Love Civic Center and the Eiffel Tower, and many other points <br />of interest in Paris. <br />The need for a public restroom facility Downtown was also discussed. <br />
