06/23/2008 09:00 9037842503 PAGE 02 <br />Faris Visitors & Convention Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Tuesday, June 3, 2008 <br />Present: Suzy Harper, Mike Patterson, Rene Harvey, Troy Gwinn, Helen Short, Gail <br />Dority, Jon McFadden, Derald Bulls, George Kimbrough, Tim Masters, and Bobby <br />Walters. <br />Guest Present: Sally Wright, Connie Beard, Richard and Christy Lenoir, and Jean <br />Williams. <br />Staff Present: Pete Kampfer, Mindy Mores, and Becky Semple. <br />Chairman. Bobby Walters called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. and welcomed <br />the guest, Connie Beard from The Paris News, jean Williams from the Rodeo and Horse <br />Club, Sally Wright from the City of Paris, Christy and Richard Lenoir from the Ham <br />Fest. <br />Mindy Moree presented the financial statement for April 2008 for the Visitors <br />and Convention Council and the Love Civic Center. The financial report was approved <br />on a motion made by Mike Patterson, seconded by Roy Gwinn_ <br />N'ew Business: <br />The minutes were presented from the last meeting held February 5, 2008. The <br />minutes were approved on a motion made by Helen Short and seconded by Gail Dority. <br />Funding request were presented for Paris Police Department Statewide Training <br />Seminar for $1000; Paris Texas Radio Group Ham fest for $2500, Paris Rodeo and Horse <br />Club Rodeo for $2500, City of Paris Swim Meet for $2500. Bobby Walters reported that <br />the subcommittee scored the funding request based off of the scoring criteria aztd the <br />following recommendations were presented, to the board .for approval: <br />Paris Police Department statewide training seminar was funded at 72% totaling <br />$720, on a motion made by George Kimbrough. and seconded by Gail Dority. <br />Paris Texas Radio Group Ham Pest was funded at 62% totaling $1550 on a motion <br />made by Pete Kampfer and seconded by Suzy Harper, <br />Paris Rodeo and Horse Club were funded at 73% totaling $1825 on a motion <br />made by George Kimbrough and seconded by Suzy Harper. <br />City of Paris Swim meet was funded at 781/o totaling $1.950 on a motion made by <br />Helen Short and seconded by Pete Kampfer. <br />.11.11 four funding recommendations were approved wi.tlt no opposition, <br />
