Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 15, <br />Opening: <br />The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at <br />4:05 p.m. on August 15, 2012, in the Library Gallery by Deborah Hatley, Vice - Chair. <br />Present: <br />Pat Books, Deborah Hatley, Hilda Mallory, Ann Norment, and Library Director Priscilla <br />McAnally. <br />A. Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as distributed. <br />B. New Business <br />Ron Hervey, Library Paraprofessional gave an overview of his job duties to the members. <br />Some of these duties include responsibility for the public access computers, assisting <br />patrons with accessing the Internet, researching and answering reference questions, <br />instructing patrons on the use of the computers and the electronic databases provided by <br />the library as well as assisting staff with software and hardware questions /problems. <br />Director McAnally then gave the Board members a demonstration of a few of the e- <br />resources available through the Library's website. Among the sources displayed were <br />OneClick Digital, Freading and Freegal. <br />C. Old Business <br />A local automotive paint and body shop has been contacted about "refreshing" the <br />curbside book drop. Someone will be out in the next week or two to look it over and see <br />what can be done. <br />D. Presentations <br />a. Budget Report <br />As of the end of July 82% of the budget had been expended <br />b. Statistical Report <br />Circulations and library visits were down 5.9% and 9.7% respectively <br />
