Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />July 20, 2011 <br />Note: Just prior to the meeting, new Library Board members Fran Neeley, Pat Books, and Alice Woodard, and <br />returning member Linda Vandiver were administered the oath of office. <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at 4 p.m. in the Library Gallery. <br />Attending were Fran Neeley, Pat Books, Alice Woodard, Linda Vandiver, Hilda Mallory, Debbie Anderson, <br />and Library Director Priscilla McAnally. <br />Hilda Mallory nominated Linda Vandiver for Board Chairman seconded by Fran Neeley. She was elected by a <br />unanimous vote. <br />Linda Vandiver nominated Deborah Hatley for Vice -chair seconded by Fran Neeley. She was elected by a <br />unanimous vote. <br />Linda Vandiver nominated Debbie Anderson for Secretary seconded by Fran Neeley. She was elected by a <br />unanimous vote. <br />Hilda Mallory made the motion to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Motion carried. <br />The Director reported that the Loan Star Libraries grants have been eliminated due to state budget cuts. <br />There has been a request that the library seek affiliation with the Latter Day Saints Library. This will enable us <br />to borrow microfilm for patrons at no cost to the library. The patron will pay $5.50 per roll. The library does not <br />have a microfilm reader /printer, but those machines are available at Paris Junior College. <br />The Director distributed the statistical report for June. There was no budget report. The Director and staff <br />member Leigh Igo will be going to Dallas July 21 for interlibrary loan training. The Director will attend the <br />Polaris users group meeting September 28. <br />Fran Neeley has received a request that the bushes next to the parking lot railing be trimmed back.
