Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />June 20, 2007 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session Wednesday afternoon, June 20, 2007, at 4 <br />o'clock at the library. Chairman Bill Kennedy called the meeting to order. Other members in attendance were <br />Deborah Hatley, Audrey Lakes, Debbie Anderson, Eddie Poole, Hilda Mallory, Jake Street, and Fran Neeley. <br />Also in attendance was Priscilla McAnally, Library Director. <br />The minutes of the May meeting were approved with the following corrections: <br />• Deborah Hatley was added to the list of those present at the meeting <br />• "of the budget" was omitted from paragraph three pertaining to the replacement of the a/c unit <br />Board members with terms expiring in July are Bill Kennedy, Eddie Poole, and Jake Street. Bill and Eddie have <br />agreed to serve second terms. Eddie Poole made a motion to recommend Linda Vandiver for the board position <br />currently held by Jake Street. Debbie Anderson seconded the motion. The motion carried. <br />Billy Book has been repaired and is ready to go. Billy's alter ego (Bill Kennedy) is ready to make appearances <br />with Billy. <br />The proposed library budget is basically the same as last year's with a reclassification for the director position <br />and changing a part -time position to a full-time one. $2500 has been added to the minor apparatus line item for <br />telephone replacement. $1000 has been added to utilities — electricity. Maintenance — building and grounds has <br />been dropped by $5000 and office supplies by $500. <br />There were no unusual expenditures in the budget report for May. The statistical report reflected increases over <br />the same period in 2006 in both library visits and circulation. Increases were also recorded in new library cards, <br />programs and program attendance, and interlibrary loans. <br />The Friends of the Library luncheon is scheduled for October S. The Friends are still taking in $60 to $100 a <br />month on the book sales. The organization has changed its leadership structure from a president to co- chairmen. <br />There being no further business, the chairman adjourned the meeting at 4 :30 p.m. <br />Debbie Anderson, Secretary <br />
