Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting Minutes <br />19 June 2008 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met Thursday afternoon, June 19, 2008, at 4 o'clock in the Library <br />Gallery. Attending were Bill Kennedy, Debbie Anderson, Deborah Hatley, Eddie Poole, Audrey Lakes, Hilda <br />Mallory, Linda Vandiver, Jackie Alsobrook, and Library Director Priscilla McAnally. Chairman Kennedy <br />called the meeting to order. <br />Minutes from the previous meeting were approved as printed. <br />Eddie Poole made a motion to accept the proposed Library Building Policy with corrections. Second was made <br />by Audrey Lakes. The motion carried. <br />Eddie Poole made a motion to accept the proposed Volunteer /Community Service Policy with a second by <br />Jackie Alsobrook. Motion carried. <br />Hilda Mallory made a motion to accept the proposed Patron Conduct Policy with a second by Deborah Hatley. <br />Motion carried. <br />The Director reported that $12,000 had been spent on books in the past month. The statistical report reflects a <br />significant drop in the number of library cards. This is due to a purge of inactive patron accounts. <br />The summer programs are going well. The Friends photography program will occur in July with the children's <br />best photos to be displayed in an art show the last week of the month. <br />The property survey has established that the shrubs on the south side of the property do belong to the Library, <br />and they will be taken out and replaced with something more appropriate as soon as can be arranged. New signs <br />have been placed on the restroom doors to help clarify for children which is the girls and which is the boys. <br />The Director reported on the Leadership Etiquette seminar she and Judy Vickers attended in Quitman. <br />There being no further business, the chairman adjourned the meeting at 4:30 p.m. <br />Submitted by, <br />Debbie Anderson, Secretary <br />Received <br />CitY of Paris <br />C6tY Clark <br />
