Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />17 September 2008 <br />Minutes <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met Wednesday afternoon, September 17, 2008, at 4 p.m. in the <br />Library gallery. Attending were Debbie Anderson, Linda Vandiver, Hilda Mallory, Bill Kennedy, Jackie <br />Alsobrook, and Library Director Priscilla McAnally. <br />Chairman Kennedy called the meeting to order. Minutes from the previous meeting were approved as printed. <br />The 2008 -2009 library budget is essentially the same as the 2007 -2008 budget. None of the requested employee <br />classifications was granted. <br />The Region 8 Service Center will sponsor two workshops in the library in October to promote reading in the <br />day care centers. The workshops are for day care center staff. <br />Statistical report showed library visits up over last year, but circulation down. <br />The Friends of the Library will sponsor a wine and cheese fundraiser in October at Reep's Furniture. A $50 <br />check for books sold through Better World Books has been received. <br />The Paris Housing Authority would like to begin an after school program for their children. Program details as <br />to place, etc., need to be worked out. <br />The Director will be out of town October 15 -24. The next Advisory Board meeting will be moved to October <br />29. <br />There being no further business, the chairman adjourned the meeting at 4:35 p.m. <br />Submitted by <br />Debbie Anderson, Secretary <br />
