Street Advisory Board Meeting <br />May 17, 2011 <br />City Council Chambers <br />Members Present: Absent: <br />Matt Coyle Kari Daniel <br />Britin Bostick <br />James Brockway <br />Dustin Lindsey <br />Ashlea Mattoon <br />Cheri Bedford <br />Meeting called to order by Matt Coyle at 4 :12. <br />Minutes for April approved by James and seconded by Britin. <br />Managers Report: <br />1. Farmers Market — Kelly's produce is in place and has a new manager this year <br />(Brittany). The trees were trimmed and the center tree was removed to allow more <br />sunlight. There will be new sod installed by June. The 28th is the grand opening and <br />there will be new vendors as well as a ceramic demonstration. "Go Texan" will be there <br />handing our bags, seeds and information. The Master Gardeners will be there with a <br />demonstration. There have been 8 new banners made and installed. <br />2. Preservation Celebration — at the Plaza on June 21St. (see flyer) there will be <br />three schools, Chisum, North Lamar and Paris, exhibiting there projects. <br />The Mayor signed a proclamation designating May as historic preservation month. <br />There is a preservation seminar in Denton on June 16th from 8:30 to 5:00. Cheri <br />encouraged the board to attend and will but lunch for anyone coming! The theme is <br />"comprehensive Business Recruitment for Historic Downtowns." <br />Committee Reports: <br />Organization Report: No report <br />Design Report: Dustin will be taking over the Design committee <br />Promotions: No report- Kari was absent <br />Economic Restructure: Britin spoke with the Rotary club about the downtown and <br />shopping locally and changing the town to a 4B. There was a positive response. The <br />committee is looking at downtown landscaping, more green areas. They are working on <br />a database of available downtown space and current owners. <br />
