The city of Paris covers insurance for Movies in the Park <br />D. Economic Restructure — Britin. Britin attended the training meeting with Cheri <br />in Denton. There were good points made about retaining and recruiting new businesses. <br />The PEDC members are on board with how small businesses contribute to the PEDC. <br />Fire Festival Info: Britin reported on the beginning of the fire festival planning. <br />This will be a city wide event requiring lots of community involvement. There will be an <br />email with future meeting dates. As of now, the potential date is the first of June with a <br />"Fireman's Ball" on March 21St. Sally Wright is spearheading the ball. <br />Next E.R. meeting will be held at 6:30 on Thursday at That Guys Coffee. <br />E. HPC — Matt. There were no COA to approve and no one has applied for a <br />facade grant. Please get the word out that the facade grant is available. <br />Over 60K was raised at Dancing with the Stars. This will go to the facade of the <br />Grand Theater. <br />F. PDA — Kari. PDA is designing flags for all PDA members to hang in their <br />stores. They ran an ad on the back of the Dancing with the Stars program and filmed a <br />commercial for Movies in the Park. PDA accepts all members who are interested in <br />downtown. <br />Cheri presented the first of five plaques for the downtown. They are solid brass <br />and look wonderful. The first one is for "The Parisian Theatre" 1916. Five plaques cost <br />around $1000. <br />Vision/Mission Statement: <br />Kari Daniel moved and Ashlea Mattoon seconded the approval of the revised <br />statement prepared by Britin. <br />Future Agenda Items: <br />Discussing and setting up open meetings on services Main Street has to offer. <br />Edwin reminded everyone to reapply for board positions if your term was <br />expiring and to remember to vote in local elections. <br />Meeting was adjourned at 5:16.
