MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11, 2012 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chairman at 12:00 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman <br />Douglas Cox <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Nancy Anderson <br />Britin Bostick <br />David Stewart <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />None <br />C. Also present Jeanna Scott, Historic Preservation Officer; and Robert Talley, Code <br />Enforcement Supervisor. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (March 14, 2012) <br />Motion was made by Nancy Anderson, seconded by Britin Bostick to approve the <br />meeting minutes for March 14, 2012. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 208 South Main Street — Bois D' Are Restaurant — Jeanna Scott, Historic <br />Preservation Officer presented the petition. Ms. Scott stated Mr. Coyle wants to <br />place two signs that will be located on the front door and on the large glass. Mr. <br />Coyle also wants to affix a screening material to the window that is located in the <br />kitchen to help screen that area from view, there is a photo attached of the <br />proposed screening material. Commissioners requested clarification on whether <br />the material will be attached directly to the glass. If this is a shading device, and <br />does not attach directly to the glass then it does not fall under the HPC's <br />jurisdictions. Motion was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Douglas Cox to <br />approve the signage only. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />
