MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, APRIL 23, 2012 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chairman at 4:00 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman <br />Douglas Cox <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Britin Bostick <br />David Stewart <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Nancy Anderson <br />C. Also present Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager; Jeanna Scott, Historic <br />Preservation Officer; and Matt Frierson, Council Member. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (April]], 2012) <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Britin Bostick to approve the meeting <br />minutes for April 11, 2012. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 118 Lamar Avenue — Crimestoppers — Sally Wright, Chairman for Crimestoppers <br />presented the petition. Ms. Wright stated they have never had a sign at this <br />location. The attached sign will be placed above the door with the spy glass blade <br />sign being attached above it. Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by <br />Paul Denney to approve the COA. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />B. 136 -138 Clarksville Street — Cattle Drive Steakhouse — Kenya Edzards, business <br />owner presented the petition. Ms. Edzards stated she wants to change the name of <br />the business from the Skinny Grille to Cattle Drive Steakhouse. Ms. Edzards <br />further stated she has had a lot of feedback from customers who thought that the <br />Skinny Grille offered only diet foods. Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, <br />seconded by Douglas Cox to approve the COA. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />4. Future agenda items. Resolution of thanks for Lyle Vermillion's work on the <br />Peristyle. <br />
