MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, 2012 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chairman at 12:01 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman <br />Douglas Cox <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Britin Bostick <br />David Stewart <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Nancy Anderson <br />C. Also present Jeanna Scott, Historic Preservation Officer; Robert Talley, Code <br />Enforcement Supervisor; and Janice Ellis, City Clerk. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (April 23, 2012) <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Douglas Cox to approve the meeting <br />minutes for April 23, 2012. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Britin Bostick arrived at 12:03 p.m. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 135 & 139 Bonham Street — Benevolence Memorial Funeral Home — Cornell <br />Pipkin presented the petition. Mr. Pipkin stated they are proposing signage for <br />their location. Motion was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Britin Bostick to <br />approve the COA. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />B. 135 1St Street S.E. — City Hall — Jeanna Scott, City Staff presented the petition. <br />Ms. Scott stated the City is proposing to replace 9 windows on the second floor of <br />the City Hall Building, two on the north side, 6 on the west side, and 2 on the <br />south side. Ms. Scott further stated there is a sample here for your review, the <br />color will be the stone white, and it is a 9 pane wood, aluminum clad double hung <br />window. Arvin Starrett asked staff if the window met the design standards. Ms. <br />Scott stated that it does meet standards. Motion was made by Douglas Cox, <br />seconded by Ben Vaughan to approve the COA. Motion carried 5 -0. Paul <br />
