MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2012 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Paul Denney, <br />Chairman at 4:00 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Paul Denney <br />Britin Bostick <br />Douglas Cox <br />Lauri Redus <br />Ben Vaughan <br />David Stewart <br />Nancy Anderson <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />None <br />C. Also present Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (October 10, 2012) <br />Motion was made by Britin Bostick seconded by Ben Vaughan to approve the meeting <br />minutes for October 10, 2012. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 407 1 s' Street S. W. — Mary Ann Campbell, property owner, presented the petition. <br />Ms. Campbell stated after working with Paul Denney and her partner this is the drawing <br />they came up with. They are proposing a 20 by 24 foot portico with a parapet wall on the <br />west and south side; the gutters will be located on the east side. Commissioner Bostick <br />asked if they plan to paint the brick. Ms. Campbell stated possibly if they can't match the <br />original brick. Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Britin Bostick to <br />approve the COA. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />4. Consideration of and possible action on changing the criteria for applying for a fagade <br />grant. <br />Britin Bostick presented the draft copy of the Main Street Building Improvement Grant <br />document for possible consideration to be utilized by the Commission in considering <br />Facade Grants. Ms. Bostick stated they are still working to perfect the document and <br />hope to start the application process in January. Commissioners discussed changing the <br />HPC fagade grant maximum time period for reapplying from five years to two years. The <br />
