MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2011 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chairman at 4:00 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Douglas Cox <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Paul Denney, Vice- Chainnan <br />Jerry Raper <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />Matt Coyle <br />C. Also present was Jeanna Scott, City Staff. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous minutes. (January 24, 2011) <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Raper to approve the minutes for the <br />January 24, 2011 meeting. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />3. Consideration qf and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 308 South Main Street — Aaron Raper presented the petition. Mr. Raper stated <br />they are proposing to demolish the room above the carport, along with additional <br />repair and routine maintenance at the property. Motion was made by Paul <br />Denney, seconded by Douglas Cox to approve the COA. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />B. 208 South Main Street — Aaron Raper presented the petition. Mr. Raper stated <br />requesting permission to place a fence on the back portion of the property. <br />The fence will look just like the one at the Gibraltar Hotel. Motion was made by <br />Ben Vaughan, seconded by Jerry Raper to approve the COA. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />4. Report from City Staff, Jeanna Scott: <br />A. Nomination of Historic Signs. Jeanna Scott, City Staff presented a list of possible <br />historic signs that can be nominated. Commissioners will review and ad <br />additional signs as necessary. <br />
