MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, MARCH 28, 201.1. <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chairman at 4:00 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Douglas Cox <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman <br />Jerry Raper <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Matt Coyle <br />Ben Vaughan <br />C. Also present was Jeanna Scott, City Staff; Shawn Napier, Director of <br />Engineering, Planning and Development; and Rhonda Rogers, Council Member. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous minutes. (March 9, 2011) <br />Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Jerry Raper to approve the minutes for <br />the March 9, 2011 meeting. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the_ following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 207 S Church Street — First Baptist Church — Glenn Gamble presented the <br />petition. Mr. Gamble stated they are proposing to paint the masonry on building <br />"C ", the color will be HC -47 Brookline Beige. They will paint a section and see <br />if the color is a match with the main building. The church will also be replacing <br />the glass in the windows with Low E glass. The mullions will be glued to <br />the outside of each window. These windows will not open. Motion was made by <br />Jerry Raper, seconded by Susan Scholz to approve the COA as presented. Motion <br />carried 4 -0. <br />Paul Denney arrived at 4:09 pm. <br />4. Report, discussion and possible action on nominating historical signs. Commissioners <br />reviewed power point presentation discussing possible sign nominations. Motion was <br />made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Jerry Raper to nominate The Tropic Restaurant sign, <br />
