MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8, 2011 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Susan Scholz, <br />Secretary at 1.2:00 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Douglas Cox <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Matt Coyle <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Jerry Raper <br />Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman <br />C. Also present were Jeanna Scott, Historic Preservation Officer; and Cheri Bedford, <br />Main Street Manager. <br />2. Approval of minutes.from previous minutes. (May 17,2011; May 23, 2011) <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Matt Coyle to approve the minutes with <br />for the May 17, 2011 and May 23, 2011 meetings. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 615 1st Street S. W. — Ronnie Fox property owner represented the petition. Mr. <br />Fox stated they are changing the shingles. Motion was made by Douglas Cox, <br />seconded by Matt Coyle to approve the COA. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />4. Discussion of and possible action on recommending revisions to the sign ordinance to <br />include an article that regulates signage in the Downtown Historic District. Ben <br />Vaughan stated that there needs to be a change to the window sign area. The correction <br />should state "All noncommercial temporary signage must be removed within 7 days after <br />the last day of the advertised event. Commissioners discussed wording regarding <br />attached signs meeting ADA requirements. Motion was made by Matt Coyle, seconded <br />by Ben Vaughan to approve the recommendation subject to corrections. Motion carried <br />4 -0. <br />
