MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10, 2010 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, Chairman at <br />12:00 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman <br />Douglas Cox <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Jerry Raper <br />Matt Coyle <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />C. Also present was Jeanna Scott, City Staff. <br />2. Approval of minutes fi°om previous minutes. (February 22, 2010) <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Matt Coyle to approve the minutes for the <br />February 22, 2010 meeting. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates o f Appropriateness: <br />A. 34 Clarksville Street — Alex Pickering, Scott's Custom Signs, presented the petition. Ms. <br />Pickering stated they are placing main name on the building advertising the Hometown Web <br />Media; the actual sign will be smaller than the picture. The sign can be lit up because of the <br />translucent lighting behind it. They are not proposing to add in additional lighting, the <br />lighting is existing in the building. Motion was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Ben <br />Vaughan to approve the COA. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />B. 824 South Main Street — Diana Zablosky presented the petition. Ms. Zablosky stated she <br />needs a glass storm door to protect the original door on the house. She is proposing a solid <br />glass door with black frame. Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Matt Coyle <br />to approve the COA. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />Motion was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Douglas Cox to recuse Ben Vaughan from item 4. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />
