MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2010 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chairman at 4:00 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Douglas Cox <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Matt Coyle <br />Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />C. Also present were Jeanna Scott, City Staff, and Rhonda Rogers, City Council <br />Member. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous minutes. (October 25, 2010; November 10, 2010) <br />Motion was made by Jerry Raper, seconded by Matt Coyle to approve the minutes for the <br />October 25, 2010 and November 10, 2010 meetings. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />3. Consideration of'and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 33 East Plaza — The Vault — George Shoemake, property owner presented the <br />petition. Mr. Shoemake stated the existing windows are in bad condition and <br />cannot be repaired. He is proposing replacing the existing windows with vinyl <br />windows that have low E glass. Motion. was made by Jerry Raper, seconded by <br />Paul Denney to approve the COA. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />4. Receipt of report from the Historic Preservation Officer. <br />A. Certificate of Appropriateness - Jeanna Scott, city staff gave report. To date 44 <br />Certificate of Appropriateness's have been issued, of that number 30 were <br />presented to HPC and 14 were routine maintenance. <br />B. parade Grant — Jeanna Scott, city staff gave report. No fagade grants have been <br />approved or issued since the last report. <br />
