MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD <br />CITY OF PARIS — CITY HALL <br />OLD COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />1351 ST STREET S.E. <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />THURSDAY, AUGUST 19, 2010 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK PM <br />1. The Airport Advisory Board meeting was called to order by Chairman Jack Ashmore at <br />5:30 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Jack Ashmore <br />Steve Gilbert <br />Billy Copeland <br />Fred Williams <br />Ray Ball <br />Jerry Coyle <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Vic Ressler <br />C. Also present were Shawn Napier, Airport Director; Jeanna Scott, City Staff; Jerry <br />Richey, Airport Manager; Mindy Moree, President of the Chamber of Commerce; <br />Becky Semple, Tourism Director, Paris Visitors and Convention Council; and <br />Edwin Pickle, Council Member. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (Jime 17, 2010) <br />Motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes for the June 17, 2010 meeting. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />3. Discussion of and possible action on having an Auto Cross at the Airport sponsored by the <br />Chamber of Commerce and Lonestar BMW CCA in October. <br />A. Presentation by Steve Hodges, Lonestar BMW, CCA. <br />Steve Hodges stated he was approached by the Chamber to have this event. He is the D.E. <br />chairman for the BMW CCA; which means he is responsible for organizing race events. <br />Club has been existence since the early 70's and they hold events just like this at least <br />once a month. Normally there is an average of 50 cars plus, and is a semi spectator event. <br />There will be not out of pocket expense for airport; BMW will furnish all equipment <br />needed to have the autocross. Fred Williams asked how much room will it take. Mr. <br />Hodges stated it is up to you, it can be as much as 1 '/2 miles or as small as % mile. Jack <br />
