There was no opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Chester Martindale stated that there is amble signage on the property at this time, by <br />approving additional signage we are setting precedence for other businesses. Motion was <br />made by Chester Martindale, seconded by Allen Moore to deny the petition. Motion <br />carried 2 -1. Kyle McCarley abstained. <br />4. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition o f Paris Independent School <br />District to grant a variance of Sign Ordinance 2008 -021, Section 28 -24(4) which provides <br />"all electronic sign faces shall be limited to a maximum of ten(] 0) square feet in area; <br />provided, however, properties adjacent and, fronting on Loop 286 may locate an electronic <br />sign facing Loop 286 up to a maximum sign.face area of thirty -two (32) square feet, " to <br />allow, f fty -six (56) square feet o f electronic sign. face area, which is a forty -six (46) square <br />foot variance on Lot 1, City Block 350, being number 3030 Jefferson Road. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. No one spoke in favor of <br />B. There was no opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Rick Hundley, seconded by Chester Martindale to table this item. <br />Motion carried 4 -0. <br />5. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Maximum Elevation to <br />grant a variance of Sign Ordinance 2008 -021, Section 28 -8(h) which provides that the <br />"total sign face area of all permanent signs combined on one property, including ground <br />signs, pole signs, attached signs, etc. Shall not exceed one (1) square foot per front_ foot of <br />property line, or a maximum of three hundred (300) square feet, at any time, " to allow 1.33 <br />square feet o f sign, face area per, front_ foot of'property, which is a.33 square, foot variance <br />on Lot 3B, City Block 281,being number 185517`h Street N.E. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. Alex Pickering, Scott's Custom Signs, spoke in favor of the petition. Ms. <br />Pickering stated this is a new business located adjacent to Loop 286. The business <br />owner wants to make his sign as large as possible to appeal to the traffic along Loop <br />286. <br />B. There was no opposition. <br />
