3. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (June 18, 2012) Motion was made by Zack Saffle and seconded by Ryan Lassiter to approve the minutes for the June 18, 2012 meeting. Motion carried unanimously. 6 -0 4. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and owner(s) and /or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of a violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures ": A. Main Tire; Lot 1, City Block 57 Owner: Ben Faber, Jeffrey L and Sarah M Faber 11548 US Hwy 271 N. Arthur City, TX 75411 Robert Talley stated that he has spoken with Jeff Faber and knows that Sarah Faber is aware of the problems with the property. Robert stated that repair work has started and a dumpster has been put at the property. A demolition permit has been applied for with the City of Paris. Robert pointed out the deterioration of the building; the wood is sagging and pulling away from the structure. The demolition is on the building behind the tire store. Robert Talley's recommendation: Table the property for 60 days and bring it back to the October meeting and look at the progress. Vicky Ballard arrived at the meeting — 4:09pm Don Wilson stated that the front porch is collapsing; painting and straightening up will not help the building. Don doesn't want Robert Talley telling the property owner one thing and the Commission not backing him up. Zack Saffle stated that we can only work what we can see at this time. Johnny Norris asked if the boards are a public hazard. Robert Talley answered yes; the public could be in danger. Zack asked why we would table this property. Johnny Norris stated that 60 days was too long. Don Wilson asked if the Fire Marshall could inspect this property. Robert Talley stated he would get with the Fire Marshall to check on the Certificate of Occupancy and see if they will inspect the property. Don Wilson stated that this property is and eyesore. Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Wendell Moore to fix the awning where the loose board are and get the Fire Marshall to inspect the property within the next 30 days then bring this property back to the next meeting. Motion carried unanimously. 7 -0 B. 201 Bonham St., Lot 3, City Block 22 Owner: Utility Masters LLC, 2448 Lamar Ave. #904 Paris, TX 75460 Robert Talley said he has been in contact with Richard Lee owner of Utility Masters. Mr. Lee stated that he is fixing the broken windows but there are windows he has opened that are not broken. Johnny Norris asked what the stuff under the windows was and Robert Talley stated plaster. Robert Talley asked Mr. Lee if the roof leaked and Mr. Lee stated no. The bottom floor of this building is occupied. This will be a future building for the Fire Marshall to look at. Don Wilson stated that the plaster falling on the sidewalk needs to be taken care of
