MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, AUGUST 24, 2009 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Paul Denney, Vice- Chairman <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />Douglas Cox <br />Jerry Raper <br />Matt Coyle <br />Ben Vaughan <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />None <br />C. Also present were Jeanna Scott, City Staff. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (August 12, 2009) <br />Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Paul Denney to approve the minutes for <br />the August 12, 2009 meeting. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Matt Coyle to recuse Paul Denney and <br />Arvin Starrett from Item 3a. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 322 Lamar Avenue — Paul Denney — Mr. Denney stated this is the sign for the Food <br />Pantry sponsored by the First United Methodist Church. The sign will be 8 foot by 2 <br />foot and attached to the west side of the southeast building. Motion was made by <br />Matt Coyle, seconded by Douglas Cox. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Matt Coyle to return Paul Denney and <br />Arvin Starrett to the meeting. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />4. Request items for future agendas. Report on demolition by neglect from Robert Talley. <br />Report from Historic Preservation Officer. Design Guidelines. <br />
