Consideration of and action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness: <br />A. 574 Church Street - Judy Schaffer by Steven Asay, Contractor - Steven <br />Asay stated he is proposing to replace aluminum windows with vinyl <br />windows. The vinyl window will be 1/1, equally divided. Mr. Asay is <br />also seeking approval of the door on the balcony. Motion was made to <br />approve the COA by Brian Wear, seconded by Susan Scholz. Motion <br />carried 7 -0. <br />B. 575 Church Street - Fred A. Roy - Lisa Wright explained that Mrs. Roy <br />originally submitted a metal building, but she advised her that this <br />would not be an appropriate material in the District. She recommended <br />to Mrs. Roy a wooden structure that was side - gabled like her house, <br />with roof materials and color to match the house, and Mrs. Roy said <br />that was acceptable to her. Motion made to approve COA in the form <br />modified by agreement with Mrs. Roy by Paul Denney, seconded by <br />Susan Scholz. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />C. 902 S. Main Street - Living Word Pentecostal Church by Tiny Freelin - <br />Tiny Freelin, Pastor of Living Word Pentecostal Church, stated they <br />want to paint the brick, replace the fascia board, repair mortar, install <br />lighting on a sign, and replace gutters. The church was built in 1946. <br />Commissioners state design standards does not allow painting brick <br />unless it has already been painted. The Church can repaint the mortar. <br />Color mortar on front to be replaced and wood trim to be painted. <br />Motion was made to approve COA conditionally, all but brick painting <br />by Pike Burkhart, seconded by Susan Scholz. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />D. 410 W. Kaufman Street - First Presbyterian Church by David House, <br />Trustee - Lisa Wright stated they have agreed to shingle the roof with <br />composition shingles similar to those on the church. Motion was made <br />by Pike Burkhart to approve COA with the condition that the material be <br />similar to that on the church with the appropriate pitch, seconded by <br />Paul Denney. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />E. 118 1st Street S.E. - Heather Burchinal - Motion was made to approve <br />COA by Ann Rogers, seconded by Susan Scholz. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />
