MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10, 2009 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Paul Denney, Vice <br />Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />Ben. Vaughan <br />Douglas Cox <br />Jerry Raper <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Matt Coyle <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />C. Also present was Jeanna Scott, Administrative Assistant. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings (May 26, 2009) <br />Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Douglas Cox to approve May 26, 2009 <br />minutes. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 35 and 39 Lamar Avenue — Richard Dixon presented the petition. Mr. Dixon <br />stated they are removing wood and tin from original windows and brick. He is <br />concerned about what the brick will look like once exposed. Susan Scholz asked <br />if he had peaked to see what wood looks like. Richard Dixon stated no he had <br />not. Ben Vaughan stated awning leaks, what are you proposing to use to repair it? <br />Richard Dixon stated will use tar down, which is what is on it. This should repair <br />leaks on the awning. Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Douglas <br />Cox to approve the COA. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />B. 5 East Plaza — Upstairs Loft — Artesia Enterprises — Gary Brown presented the <br />petition. Mr. Brown stated loft entrance needs awning over the entrance on the <br />north side. This awning will snatch the Subway awning in fabric and color. <br />Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Douglas Cox to approve the <br />COA. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />C. 7 East Plaza — Artesia Enterprises — Gary Brown presented the petition. Mr. <br />Brown stated they are replacing the fabric portion of the roll out canopy.
