MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PARIS <br />CITY HALL - COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 11, 2006 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 12:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Barbara Wilson, Vice Chairman <br />Paul Denney <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Alternates: Becki Norment <br />Claudia Hunt <br />The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rogers, Secretary <br />Brian Wear <br />Jerry Raper <br />B. Also present was Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer. <br />2. Approve minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes as <br />is from the December 19, 2005, meeting was made by Barbara Wilson, <br />seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness: <br />A. 108 Lamar Avenue - Ansteorra, Inc. dba StarNet Online Systems. Amy <br />Story stated that the awning had to be taken down. During high winds, <br />it would lift from the frame. They are proposing to fix where the awning <br />was taken down by putting a 318" x 12" cement board over the rotten <br />wood. Underneath the cement board will be a 4" water resistant wood <br />with a wood grain texture with chair rail beneath the crown. Chairman <br />Starrett asked if the brick on the building would be painted. Ms. Story <br />stated that the brick on the building would be painted, also the planter <br />would be painted to match the brick on the building. All trim work will <br />be painted in the bronze color. Barbara Wilson pointed out that the <br />proposed dentil molding was not appropriate for this style of building, <br />and recommended thatthey remove the dentil molding and use only the <br />
