MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PARIS <br />CITY HALL - COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2006 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 4:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Jerry Raper <br />Paul Denney <br />Alternate: Brian Wear <br />The following members were absent: <br />Barbara Wilson, Vice Chairman <br />Ann Rogers, Secretary <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Alternate: Becki Norment <br />B. Also present were Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer; and <br />Bethany Golden, Main Street Coordinator /Asst. HPO. <br />2. Approve minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes of <br />the February 8, 2006, meeting was made by Brian Wear, seconded by Sue <br />Lancaster with one correction in agenda item #3A, paragraph two. Arvin <br />Starrett stated "the property is not zoned for retail so it could not." Motion <br />carried 5 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness: <br />A. 309 Church Street- Central Presbyterian Day School. Flo Brunette and <br />Casey Rose were present. Motion was made for the approval of the <br />COA by Paul Denney, seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />B. 721 Church Street- Ed and Sue Lancaster. Motion was made to recuse <br />Sue Lancaster by Brian Wear, seconded by Jerry Raper. Motion carried <br />4 -0. Sue Lancaster is proposing a small sign identifying the building <br />in anticipation of a historic walking tour. A historical marker from State <br />will be placed on the right hand side of door, with a sign that identifies <br />
