MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PARIS <br />CITY HALL - COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />WEDNESDAY, MARCH 8, 2006 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 12:03 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Barbara Wilson, Vice Chairman <br />Jerry Raper <br />Paul Denney <br />Alternates: Brian Wear <br />Becki Norment <br />The following members were absent: <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Ann Rogers, Secretary <br />Claudia Hunt <br />B. Also present were Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer, and <br />Bethany Golden, Main Street Coordinator /Asst. HPO. <br />2. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 574 Church Street - Kelly and Melissa Wickersham. Arvin Starrett <br />reminded the Commission that Kelly and Melissa Wickersham have <br />presented before the Commission on two separate occasions with a <br />request for some ironwork to be installed on their property. The <br />requests were denied due to any lack of evidence that such ironwork <br />had ever existed on the property prior to this time; however, some new <br />information has come to light that is reflected in some letters that are <br />a part of the attached material. He directed the Commission to notes <br />from discussions with Martha Hickman, Bobby and Imie Walters, and <br />Phyllis Byers, who was a Church Street resident at one time. It is their <br />recollection that there was ironwork that was a part of that structure. <br />Chairman Starrett advised the Commission that the mock -up of <br />proposed ironwork included in the packet was delivered to these <br />individuals, and that all of them have agreed that this was the look of <br />the property.
