allow for a windows on a secondary facade to be blanked out for 3 <br />years. The commission can grant the request for 3 years and then the <br />petitioner would have to come back to the body annually and reapply <br />for the blanker panels to remain in place. In the event, the petitioner or <br />some future owner might wish to restore the windows, then the blanker <br />panels would be removed. The masonry is already painted. The colors <br />that the petitioner has chosen does fall within the pallette approved for <br />the downtown commercial district. Motion was made to approve the <br />COA by Jerry Raper, seconded by Paul Denney. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />B. 17 2nd Street S.W. - Robert A. Burns. Mr. Burns was not present, so <br />Lisa Wright explained that Mr. Burns desires to construct new doors for <br />the front entrance that resemble the one historic door still remaining. <br />Motion to approve the doors with the condition that the windows on the <br />far right look the same as the doors. Also, none of the wood is to be <br />stained, but painted only. Motion was made to approve the COA by <br />Brian Wear, seconded by Claudia Hunt. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />C. 120 E. Kaufman Street - City of Paris. Gene Anderson, Director of <br />Finance, wants to paint the building. The sides are already painted, and <br />Mr. Anderson would like to repaint them to match the red brick on the <br />back of the building. He is also proposing a drop box at the rear by <br />King's Daughters and redoing the signage. Motion was made to <br />approve signage for the primary facade, painting, and the entry door <br />rework by Paul Denney, seconded byJerry Raper, and thatthe drop box <br />and secondary facade signage is to be brought back before the <br />commission. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />4. Consideration of and action on awarding the following facade grants: <br />A. 17 2nd Street S. W. - Robert A. Burns. Motion was to approve the facade <br />grant by Brian Wear, seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />5. Consideration of and action on renewing the Certificate of Appropriateness <br />for 1125 Bonham Street (Lamar County Chamber of Commerce). Motion was <br />made to renew the COA by Jerry Raper, seconded by Paul Denney. Motion <br />carried 6 -0. <br />6. Receipt of report from the Historic Preservation Officer. Lisa Wright <br />presented the attached report. <br />7. Request items for future agendas. None. <br />8. The meeting adjourned at 12:25 p.m. <br />
