Mr. Vest advised the members of the Paris Economic Development Corporation Board that they are invited to the reception at 7:30 p.m. at the Hiring Partners offices. Mr. Vest discussed TCIM's hiring procedures and the number of applications received. Mr. Vest said that since the last meeting there have been ten contacts through -- the ad campaign. Mr. Vest said they have two other prospects as a result of the web site, one direct contract, one prospect visit, and that he had made one prospect call to a company in Dallas. Mr. Vest said he wanted to point out to the Board that they had talked about the possibility of a model or spec type building. Mr. Vest advised that they were eliminated from two site searches with the Texas Department of Economic Development because they did not have an available facility. Mr. Vest discussed those two projects with the Board. Mr. Vest advised that on August 17, the Chamber of Commerce would be having a business after hours at the Holiday Inn and that the PEDC Board is invited. President Rhodes announced that the Board had several business prospects to discuss. In accordance with Section 551.086 of the Open Meeting Act, President Rhodes closed the regular meeting at 4:21 p.m. and entered the closed session to discuss pending negotiations and commercial or financial information from business prospects regarding the following: _ A. Discuss financial information regarding loan guaranty for Southwest Foundry. President Rhodes excused himself from the closed session due to a conflict of interest. After discussion of this item, President Rhodes returned tothe closed session. B. Discuss possible land acquisition from the Union Pacific Railroad. Boardmember Don Wall excused himself from the closed session due to a conflict of interest.
