A motion
was made to that effect by Mr. Seidle and seconded by Mr. Kimbrough and the
motion passed 5 -0.
Item #4 was a request to change or remove angled parking places in the 100
block of SW 1 st Street, specifically in front of 134 W. Kaufman. Assistant Chief
Hundley informed the commission that at one time a yellow curb line had
extended from the north curb line at the intersection of W. Kaufman street north
to about the center of the second angled parking place. This had faded and
when new construction of a accessible ramp for pedestrians, the yellow curb line
had been repainted but for only a short distance. With vehicles parked in these
parking spaces, eastbound traffic on Kaufman at SW 1 st Street could not see
approaching southbound traffic unless they pulled out into almost the middle of
the intersection. After some discussion, Mr. McFadden made a motion to delete
the three angled parking places and replace them with two parallel parking
places. Mr. Seidle seconded the motion and the motion passed 5 -0.
Item #5 was a request for a stop sign at the intersection of SE 32 Street and
Clark Lane.
