MINUTES <br />TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />Tuesday, June 6, 2000 <br />Council Room - City Hall <br />Paris, Texas <br />The Traffic Commission met in regular session Tuesday, June 6, 2000 with the following <br />members present: <br />1. Charles Thompson 4. Edward Ellis <br />2. Mary Lane 5. Ricky Mackey <br />3. Cleo Holmes 6. John Gooding <br />The city staff was represented by Assistant Police Chief James Barnett. <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:19 P.M. by Assistant Chief Barnett. <br />Due to the absence of Chairman George Robinson and Co -chair Kenneth Webb, Ricky Mackey <br />was elected Acting Chairman by a 6 to 0 vote of members present. <br />The Minutes of the November 2, 1999 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />A request for Stop Signs at the following locations was considered: <br />(1.) On 2nd NE stopping North and South bound traffic at E. Booth Street. <br />(2.) On 13t' SE stopping North and South bound traffic at Cedar Street. <br />(3.) On 16t' SE stopping North bound traffic at Cedar Street. <br />(4.) On 14t' NW stopping South bound traffic at Graham Street. <br />(5.) On 16"' NW stopping North and South bound traffic at W. Walker Street. <br />(6.) On 22nd NW stopping North and South bound traffic at W. Cherry Street. <br />(7.) On County Road 21500 stopping West bound traffic at FM 137. <br />(North side of Paris Power Plant across from Kimberly - Clark) <br />Assistant Chief Barnett reported that these signs were recommended. A discussion was held. <br />After discussion Charles Thompson made a motion that the requests be combined and approved <br />as requested. Mary Lane seconded and the motion passed 6 ayes to 0 nays. <br />Kenneth Webb came in just before adjournment at 5:30 P.M. <br />mes arnett <br />
