Planning and Zoning Meeting <br />June 4, 2002 <br />Page 2 <br />Gary Nash spoke in favor of the petition and presented a site plan of the <br />new proposed Dollar General Store that he would like to build. Mr. <br />Nash was questioned about noise from the air conditioner units. Mr. <br />Nash didn't think the noise would be of any significant concern. Also, <br />a six -foot chain link fence would be installed. <br />Mr. Methven received a letter in opposition to the petition. <br />There was no further opposition, the public hearing was declared <br />closed. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the petition of Gary Nash for a change <br />in zoning from a Two - Family Dwelling District (2F) to a Commercial <br />District (C), on Lot 12 and the South 55 feet of Lots 25 and 26, including <br />a 15 x 120 foot strip of abandoned alley right -of -way (leaving the North <br />100 feet of Lots 25 and 26 fronting Maple Avenue zoned 2F), Block 1, <br />Warren Addition, being located in the 1800 Block of Bonham Street. <br />Motion was made to approve, with installation of a privacy fence along <br />the back of the property, by Bobby Myers and seconded by Cleveland <br />Thomas. Motion carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Motion was made by Marshall Kent and seconded by Bobby Myers for <br />Curtis Fendley to return to the meeting. <br />4. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Brian Flowers for a change <br />in zoning from a One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a <br />Neighborhood Service District (NS), Lot 1, City Block 257 -B, being <br />number 2504 E. Cherry. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />Brian Flowers spoke in favor of the petition stating that he would like <br />to put in a two (2) chair beauty salon at this facility. <br />
