MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNINGAND <br />ZONING COMMISSION <br />FEBRUARY 3, 2003 <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission met Monday, February 3, 2003, 5:30 <br />P.M., Paris Junior College, Applied Technology Building, Room 1206, 2400 <br />Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas with the following members present: <br />1. Reeves Hayter 4. Barbara Forrest <br />2. Cleveland L. Thomas 5. Bobby L. Myers <br />3. Russell McCain 6. Louis Yates, Jr. <br />Steve Methven, the building official was also present. <br />The meeting was called to order by Reeves Hayter. <br />1. The minutes from the January 6, 2003, regular planning and zoning <br />meeting were approved with a motion by Russell McCain and seconded <br />by Cleveland Thomas. Motion carried by a vote of 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />2. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Alma Akins for a change in <br />zoning from a Two - Family Dwelling District (2F) to a One - Family <br />Dwelling District No. 3 (SF -3) With Specific Use Permit (39) <br />Manufactured Home, Lot 3, City Block 54, being number 445 NW 4th <br />Street. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />Ms. Alma Akins, 3790 Eagle Bend, spoke in favor of the petition stating <br />that she wanted to place a double wide manufactured home on this lot. <br />Ms. Akins looked for a place for the manufactured home that would be <br />compatible with the surrounding neighborhood. She said there is a <br />similar home located on 6" Street NW. The home would be for her <br />mother or other family members. <br />Ray Mason, 152610th NW, stated that his'sister was trying to move the <br />manufactured home to Paris and he was in favor of the move. He <br />thought that the home would contribute to the Paris area. <br />
