Planning and Zoning Meeting
July 8, 2003
Page 3
Commercial District (C), Lot 1, City Block 249, being number 2404
Lamar.
The public hearing was declared open.
THIS ITEM WAS TABLED AT THE JUNE 29 2003, REGULAR
MEETING. SHOULD THE COMMISSION WISH TO CONSIDER
THIS MATTER TODAY, A MOTION TO BRING THIS ITEM FROM
THE TABLE IS REQUIRED.
Motion was made to bring item from the table by Bobby Myers,
seconded by Carl Lucas. Motion carried by a vote of 8 ayes and 0 nays.
David Glass spoke in favor of the petition stating that this property is
the only Single Family zoning on Lamar and he would like to bring this
property in compliance with the rest of the neighborhood.
Steve Methven stated that everything all around the property is of some
higher zoning. There was a house there at one time but no one will
probably ever build a home there, therefore, Commercial zoning is
proper.
There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed.
5. Consideration of and action on the petition of David Glass for a change
in zoning from a One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a
Commercial District (C), Lot 1, City Block 249, being number 2404
Lamar.
Motion was made to approve the petition by Bobby Myers, seconded
by Cleveland Thomas. Motion carried by a vote of 8 ayes and 0 nays.
6. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Ronald Kyle for a change in
zoning from a Commercial District (C) to a Commercial District (C)
